Prophecy Being Fulfilled In Tyre, Lebanon

;tldr  The explosion in Beirut just set up the fulfillment of Isaiah 23.

Like many of you, I was deeply saddened to learn of the devastating explosion at the Port of Beirut in Lebanon on Tuesday.  Many people died and it's reported some two hundred thousand were left homeless.

When studying the Bible, sometimes we come across passages which are very difficult to understand, and Isaiah 23 is just such a passage.  It speaks of the city of Tyre, Lebanon, one of the oldest, continually inhabited cities in the world.  When we overlay this passage with Ezekiel 26, we see it foretells Tyre's fate at the end of this age.

Isaiah and Ezekiel predict that Tyre, a port city, will greatly increase the amount of trade she engages in, before finally sinking below the waves of the sea on the great and terrible day of the Lord.

In my book "Decoding the Last Days: Isaiah," I wrote:

“Take a harp, go about the city, you forgotten harlot.” When a city, abstractly, is described as a harlot it seems to indicate a worldly focus and the profit of such. Verse 18 speaks of “her gain and her pay.” Worldly, godless, men direct their deeds outward, laterally, rather than vertically, toward God. As the harlot is not faithful to a single husband, but becomes defiled by anyone who will pay her, so men become defiled by the world and the profit, wealth and idols thereof. This is the picture we are given of Tyre just before she sinks below the waves.

But what would cause this increase in trade in Tyre?

Coincidently, the explosion in Beirut triggered my memory of Isaiah's prophecy about Tyre.  While trying to understand how this fit, I went and re-read what I had written in 2012 about Tyre going about as a harlot.  It was then that a thought popped into my head: "Go see if there are any recent stories about Tyre."  Would you believe it?  Just yesterday we read:

Massive explosion rocked Beirut port, killing at least 100 and injuring thousands

But is this really news, let alone prophecy being fulfilled?  How much trade does Tyre already engage in?  From Wikipedia we read:

The economy of urban Tyre mostly depends on tourism, contracting services, the construction sector, and remittances from Tyrians in the diaspora, especially in West Africa.
...
Tyre houses one of the nation's major ports, though its cargo traffic is limited to the periodical import of used cars.

So now we see Tyre does very little trade at her port.  But if these things are true, Tyre is about to see a great increase in trade before sinking into the waves.  Not only that, but it also seems, according to the "song of the harlot" prophecy, that people in Tyre (business persons, city officials) will seek out additional trade for her port.

It's interesting to note that Isaiah 23, in the context of Tyre, mentions a timeframe of 70 years, as does Jeremiah 25 and 29 in regards to Babylon/America.  Are both passages speaking of the same period?  I believe they are, and this fits perfectly with what I'm expecting to occur next year, in 2021, the great and awesome day of the Lord.

Not even one prophecy will be left unfulfilled!

“Search from the book of the LORD, and read:
Not one of these shall fail;
Not one shall lack her mate.
For My mouth has commanded it, and His Spirit has gathered them.
Isaiah 34:16

I'm continually amazed at how the Word of God so accurately predicts the end of the age, our day.  It should go without saying, God doesn't promise any of us tomorrow.  Please take time now to repent of all sin and walk in the ways of Jesus (Yahushua) Christ.
