The Real Story of 2020

tldr; The real, hidden story of 2020 is the move to destroy all of God's people, but God has a better plan.

And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.

Zechariah 1:15 KJV

We're going to talk about what this phrase, "they helped forward the affliction," really means.  While this year has brought much distress to all of us, God's people should be rejoicing.  Satan has initiated his end game, which means God is initiating His end game as well.  

‘Therefore thus says the LORD:

“I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy;

My house shall be built in it,” says the LORD of hosts,

“And a surveyor’s line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.” ’

Zechariah 1:16

What is God's answer to this?  He is returning!  Christians should realize that many times in the prophets when it speaks of Zion and Jerusalem, it's really talking about the Church.

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels,

to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect,

to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

Hebrews 12:22-24

They Helped Forward the Affliction

Let's see what the commentators of old have to say about this phrase:

They helped forward the affliction - o "He is wroth with the nations at ease, because He delivered His people to be corrected, but they used cruelty toward those delivered; He wills them to be amended as a son by a schoolmaster; they set themselves to slay and punish them, as an enemy.

Barnes' Notes

helped forward the affliction—afflicted My people more than I desired. The heathen sought the utter extinction of Judah to gratify their own ambition and revenge (Isa 47:6; Eze 25:3, 6; Ob 10-17).

The affliction: it was more than they could do to provoke me here against them than their own sins did; but what I permitted for a while they did, and added to the affliction of Israel. I would prune, but they struck at the root.

and they helped forward the affliction; that is, the heathens, among whom the Jews were carried captive; they added to their affliction; they oppressed them more than they ought to have done, and more than was agreeable to the will of God and right in his sight; and they insulted them in their misery, and rejoiced over them. The word in the Arabic language, signifies to "abound" (u); and the meaning is, that they abounded in bringing evil upon the people of the Jews; they multiplied their afflictions and distresses.

Do we not already see this end game in motion right now?  Do you really think we are being told the truth in the 24/7 "news" cycles?  And do we not already know from the book of Revelations that Satan's end game is to destroy all Christians?

Oh, saints of The Most High!  If you only understood the story of the end days.  WE are the reason God is returning to take authority over the earth.  WE are the reason all evil doers must be vanquished!  WE are the reason Judah's eyes will be opened as the two sticks of Ezekiel are rejoined in the land of promise! WE are the reason the eyes of the unbelievers will be astonished as the they witness God's miraculous glory in the earth once again!
